Drivers in Kentucky and Indiana will soon pay more to use three toll roads connecting the two states.
RiverLink, the toll system that operates these toll roads, announced a 3.8% increase over the previous year.
The annual toll rates are determined by a bi-state resolution adopted in 2013, which adjusts them by 2.5% annually unless inflation, as measured by the Consumer Price Index, is higher.
These increases are to ensure the operations and maintenance, according to a news release.
Starting July 1, rates on the Interstate 65 Abraham Lincoln Bridge, the I-65 Kennedy Bridge and the state Route 265/state Route 841 Lewis and Clark Bridge will range from $2.79 to $16.62, depending on the size of the vehicle and whether the driver has a prepaid account and a transponder.
All 4-axle vehicles will pay a toll rate between $6.95 and $9.70, while vehicles with 5 axles or more will pay between $13.84 and $16.62.
These crossings do not qualify for the RiverLink frequent-user discount.
A full list of new toll rates is available online.
These rates will remain in effect through June 30, 2027.

The Clark Memorial Bridge (U.S. Highway 31) and Sherman Minton Bridge (Interstate 64) also connect Louisville to Southern Indiana and are toll-free.
