A man is now being charged with two counts of DUI manslaughter after two people were killed in a Seminole County crash on Saturday night, officials said.Florida Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 8:10 p.m. Saturday near State Road 46 and Rest Haven Road. A Chevrolet pickup truck traveling west on SR-46 approaching Rest Haven Road crashed into the back of a Harley Davidson motorcycle that had stopped to make a left turn into a driveway across the road. The impact caused both people on the motorcycle to fall from it.FHP says the driver of a Ford Escape traveling east on SR-46 stopped along the shoulder to assist the motorcyclists when a GMC Canyon pickup truck traveling west crashed into the motorcycle lying in the roadway. The driver of the GMC Canyon then attempted to avoid the other vehicles, traveling off the south side of the roadway. The vehicle hit the left side of the Escape and hit the Chevy pickup.The driver and passenger of the motorcycle were killed in the crash. They were a 65-year-old man and a 61-year-old woman, both of Geneva. FHP said neither were wearing helmets at the time of the crash.Officials said one other person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The Chevy pickup truck’s driver, Michael Lawrence Thompson, 40, of Sanford is now being charged with two counts of DUI manslaughter. Thompson was booked into the Seminole County Jail early Sunday morning.
