The fact of the matter is, we just don’t have enough women working in trucking, but this video from Followmont Transport shows just how much there is in the logistics industry for the other half of the population.
Here is the message from Followmont about this video:
“Thinking of a career in transport? This could be your journey.
“To continue our International Women’s Day celebrations and promotion of women in transport, we caught up with just a few of the phenomenal women who help make our business what it is today.
“At Followmont, we support each other, encourage each other’s growth, celebrate each other’s wins, and work together to be our very best!
“Our diverse industry provides an exciting and rewarding career path and a genuine bunch of people to spend your days with.
“Every journey may be different, but the destination is the same when you love what you do!
“Watch the video to learn more about the Followmont family.”
These are just a few of the examples of women making their mark at Followmont.
There’s also Estelle Keenan, Branch Manager of the Gladstone Depot. Estelle started with Followmont back in 2008, making this her 15th year as part of the Followmont family!
Estelle is the perfect example of incredible career progression, starting as an Administration Assistant, moving onto Office Manager and then promoted to Branch Manager in 2022, thanks to her hard work, passion and her knowledge of the business.
Then there’s Lauren Valentine, one of the Fleet Controllers on the busy Brisbane PUD team.
Lauren’s career with Followmont started in January 2021 when she jumped behind the wheel as a HR PUD driver. In the last 12 months, she has taken on the challenge of being a Fleet Controller, essential to ensuring the smooth running of the fleet.
Lauren says she loves the opportunities that Followmont has given her, to not only drive bigger trucks and be able to use her licence, but to also grow, and advance into a new role. She has felt supported and encouraged along the way, knowing that she would succeed in this next step of her career.
