A Brampton man has been arrested and accused of stealing a truck from a repair shop, then pulling a stolen trailer with it the next day and striking a police cruiser when officers attempted to stop the stolen tractor-trailer.
No injuries were reported. The truck was allegedly stolen from a repair shop in the area of East Drive and Torbram Road in Brampton, Ont., on Dec. 21. The trailer that truck was spotted pulling was stolen in Halton Region the weekend of Dec. 20, Peel Region Police report.

The accused, after striking the police cruiser that attempted to stop him, then fled on foot before being arrested. Nirmal Singh, 42, was charged with:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime X5
- Flight From Police
- Dangerous Operation
- Possession of Break in Instruments
- Possession of Automobile Master Key X3
Further investigation revealed Singh has a Canada-wide driving suspension, which resulted in further charges of eight counts of Operation While Prohibited.
