Ryan Christopher Pope, 37, passed away on May 19th in Bradenton, FL, surrounded by family during his hospitalization.
Ryan was born on September 7, 1985, in Pittsfield. MA. The son of J. David and Pamela Pope of New Lebanon, NY.
Ryan attended New Lebanon public schools, Saint Joseph’s High School in Pittsfield, and graduated from New Lebanon Jr/Sr High School in 2004. He studied business and entrepreneurial ship studies at BCC, Pittsfield and online.
In his youth, Ryan played soccer, baseball, basketball, and school sports. He was active in Boy Scouts, and youth group missions. Ryan taught snowboarding at Bousquet and Jiminy Peak ski areas. As an adult, he played hockey and practiced mixed martial arts, with a special interest in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
Ryan was an inventor and entrepreneur owning several small businesses and currently a vintage shop. Ryan also worked for his brother Ethan’s trucking company traveling to all 48 contiguous states.
Ryan was passionate about his interests, an avid reader, collector of coins, memorabilia, and antiques. Ryan enjoyed VR gaming establishing friendships all over the country. Ryan loved nature, animals, friends and especially family and dog, Tobi.
Ryan leaves his father, J. David Pope of Bradenton, FL, mother Pamela (Ciszewski) Pope, and stepfather, Robert Cole of E. Chatham, NY, brothers Evan Pope of Pittsfield, MA and Ethan Pope of E. Chatham, NY, several uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Ryan will be remembered for the life he lived and the lives he gave with organ donations. A celebration of his life will be held in July.
