Michelin has completed the deployment of its proprietary TreadEye technology across the Michelin Retread Technologies franchise network in the U.S.
TreadEye, described by the company as an “industry-leading tread depth assessment tool,” uses 1,200 measurement points to deliver consistent, data-driven insights into tread wear and casing condition. The technology is designed to help fleets extend tire life and maximize retread value.

“It’s a powerful example of how Michelin continues to innovate in ways that directly benefit our customers,” said Nate Kirian, vice-president of sales and distribution, commercial business lines for Michelin North America, in a news release. “TreadEye is a game-changer for our retread operations and for the fleets we serve.”
Michelin says the system helps fleets identify pull points by fleet location, prevent casing damage, and reduce downtime or DOT violations from late tire removals.
