Aim Transportation Solutions recently acquired Fleetmaster Leasing Corporation, a Columbus, Ohio-based truck leasing and rental company, marking another significant step in Aim’s continued expansion across Central Ohio.
The acquisition follows the opening of Aim’s second Columbus location last year and further strengthens the company’s footprint in one of Ohio’s most active transportation markets. Aim is located in Girard, Ohio.
Fleetmaster Leasing currently operates a fleet of about 400 vehicles, which Aim will acquire, and serves a loyal customer base built on personalized service and strong relationships. Those values perfectly align with Aim’s family-owned culture and one-to-one, customized customer service, according to a statement from Aim.
Both Aim Transportation Solutions and Fleetmaster Leasing are long-standing members of the NationaLease network, providing customers with the strength of a nationwide organization supported by local expertise.
“This acquisition further strengthens our investment in long-term, relationship-driven growth in the Columbus market,” said Matt Svancara, COO at Aim Transportation Solutions. “Fleetmaster Leasing has built something special by staying close to their customers, and that philosophy mirrors how Aim operates every day.”
Founded and operated as family-owned businesses, Fleetmaster Leasing and Aim share many of the same principles that have guided both organizations for decades, said the statement from Aim. Both prioritize personal layers of management, accessibility, and accountability, ensuring customers are never treated as just a number.
The transition also marks the next chapter for Fleetmaster Leasing, a company built over several generations.
“It has been an incredible journey for my family to build Fleetmaster Leasing Corp. over the past 77 years,” said Douglas C. Rogers, owner of Fleetmaster Leasing. “Together with my team, I have a deep appreciation for the loyalty, friendship, and trust shown to us.
“I would like to thank all our loyal customers and employees who, over the years, helped make Fleetmaster what it is today. I could not have done it without them, and for that I am very grateful. This was a difficult decision, but it was important to me to find a new owner who understands our culture and will take care of our customers the way we have. Aim Transportation Solutions is the perfect fit to take what we have built to the next level.”
A central focus of the acquisition is continuity, according to Aim. Fleetmaster Leasing customers will continue to receive the same high level of service they have come to expect, supported by familiar processes and a shared commitment to responsiveness and reliability. Aim will assume management of Fleetmaster Leasing’s approximately 400 vehicles, integrating them into Aim’s broader fleet while maintaining the personalized service model customers value.
Rogers, and his team were actively involved throughout the acquisition process, working closely with Aim to ensure a strong cultural fit and a seamless transition for customers. Protecting customer relationships and maintaining service quality were top priorities during every step of the process, Rogers said.
This acquisition also highlights Aim’s continued growth and stability during a period when much of the transportation industry is experiencing consolidation, layoffs, and financial uncertainty. By expanding its footprint in Columbus through a well-established, like-minded organization, Aim said the acquisition reinforces its long-term commitment to customers, employees, and the markets it serves.
“This acquisition strengthens our presence and expands our capabilities in our home state,” said Scott Fleming, Aim President. “Aim is built to last. We are growing with intention and positioning ourselves for long-term success.”
Aim operates more than 100 locations across the U.S. and manages over 11,000 vehicles, offering a comprehensive suite of services including full-service leasing, commercial truck rentals, professional shop management, preventive maintenance, dedicated contract carriage, freight brokerage, pre-owned truck sales, and energy solutions.
