The Alberta Motor Transport Association (AMTA) is launching a replacement to its Partners in Compliance (PIC) program it says will improve road safety in the province.
The Alberta Carriers Excellent Safety (ACES) program was developed with Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors (TEC) and will go live April 1. It promises to offer a host of benefits to carriers that exceed minimum safety standards.
Carriers with a Satisfactory (Audited) Safety Fitness Rating can apply for participation, but unlike PIC, the program will be open to all Alberta carriers who meet the required National Safety Code (NSC) rating criteria.
“We are pleased to see the ACES program come to fruition, marking a milestone in our ongoing efforts to promote safety and support the success of Alberta’s carriers,” said Robert Harper, AMTA president. “This program is a testament to our advocacy efforts on behalf of our carrier members and our work with the team at TEC to improve safety and reduce red tape for our members.”
AMTA says the program will not only recognized high-performing carriers, but also offer them incentives to enhance highway safety and efficiency. The application form will be available via TEC online as of April 1 and AMTA encourages eligible carriers to visit the website to explore the program’s benefits and enroll.
