One person is dead after attempting to jump onto the catwalk of a moving semi truck in Las Vegas last week.
The incident happened last Thursday night, June 20th in Las Vegas, Nevada, but police did not release information about the incident until this week.
According to ABC 13, a 2015 Kenworth tractor trailer was traveling north on Interstate 15 near Tropicana Avenue when a pedestrian ran into the lanes of travel. Witnesses say the person then tried to jump onto the platform between the cab and trailer while the truck was moving “for unknown reasons.”
The person was then struck by the moving truck’s tires, killing them. The truck driver was unaware of the accident and continued driving until he was eventually stopped by law enforcement. The truck driver provided a statement and continues to cooperate with authorities.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene and has not yet been publicly identified. No further information has been released.
