Kanpur: A DCM truck driver and his helper died in the early hours of Monday after their vehicle rammed into a stationary truck on the Kanpur-Etawah Highway in Rania area of Kanpur Dehat district.DCM driver Satyanand (50) and helper Akhtar (40), residents of Orai (Jalaun) died in the accident. The DCM was going from Barabanki to Jalaun’s Kalpi via Kanpur with a vegetable consignment.Rania police station in-charge Mahendra Patel said that the accident took place near Rahi hotel, when the driver of the vehicle lost control and crashed into the parked truck from behind. “Driver Satyanand and cleaner Akhtar sustained grievous wounds. They were rushed to the district hospital, but they died on the way,” he said and added, “Their family members have been informed about the accident and the bodies have been shifted to mortuary for postmortem.” Searches are underway to arrest the truck driver, who had parked the truck in a wrongful manner on the highway, he added.
