New England-based trucking and logistics company XPO Inc. has re-opened a Goodlettsville service center last operated by defunct then-competitor Yellow Corp.
The opening comes after XPO, in December 2023, was the top bidder in an auction for 130 Yellow properties (read here).
At the time, industry publication FreightWaves reported XPO pledged $870 million for 28 Yellow properties (including Yellow’s two Nashville-area terminals in Goodlettsville and on Centennial Boulevard).
Located on 36 acres, the 53,000-square-foot facility XPO facility in Goodlettsville offers 100 doors for loading and receiving freight in proximity to several major highways, including Interstate 65.
An XPO release notes the company, which is based in Greenwich, Conn., plans to re-open the Centennial Boulevard facility this quarter.
Yellow, which moved its headquarters to Nashville in 2022, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in August 2023. The century-old company had more than 30,000 employees when it was operational.
XPO Inc. is a provider of less-than-truckload transportation in North America. With its business in Europe, XPO serves approximately 52,000 customers with 596 locations and 38,000 employees.
