A Pennsylvania man died after his truck collided with a semi-trailer on the New Jersey Turnpike, then struck a barrier and caught fire early Sunday in Burlington County.
The crash happened at 4:24 a.m. in Bordentown Township, New Jersey State Police Detective Jeffrey Lebron said.
The driver was identified a 30-year-old Huntingdon Valley resident. Lebron did not say whether the truck was a commercial vehicle.
Crash investigators determined the man’s truck struck the semi-trailer near milepost 54.4, Lebron said. Both were in the southbound lanes.
The collision forced the truck off the road and into a barrier, leading to it being engulfed in flames, Lebron said. No other injuries were reported.
The crash’s cause remained under investigation on Sunday, and no other information was available.
