THE 26 YEAR OLD TROOPER DIED IN AN EARLY MORNING CRASH YESTERDAY WHILE IN PURSUIT OF A RECKLESS DRIVER, A FELON ON THE RUN ON I-95 IN SAINT LUCIE COUNTY. A TRACTOR TRAILER HIT TROOPER FINK’S PATROL CAR WHEN HE ATTEMPTED TO MAKE A U-TURN. THAT CRASH KILLED BOTH FINK AND THE TRUCK DRIVER. AUTHORITIES ON THE TREASURE COAST ARE STILL WORKING TO TRACK DOWN AN ESCAPED PRISONER, FORT PIERCE POLICE SAY. THIS MAN, 19 YEAR-OLD JUSTICE REYNOLDS, WALKED OUT OF HCA FLORIDA LONGWOOD HOSPITAL AROUND 915 THURSDAY NIGHT. THE MOTHER JUMPED OVER THE RAILING OF THE ON RAMP, LANDING ON THE TRAIN TRACKS BELOW. SHE WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL IN CRITICAL CONDITION. Arrest made in deaths of FHP trooper and truck driver killed in crash on I-95 in St. Lucie County

An arrest has been made in the death of a Florida Highway Patrol trooper and truck driver Friday morning.Michael Anthony Addison, 30, made his first appearance in a St Lucie County courtroom via Zoom Saturday morning. Addison is facing 12 charges, including fleeing and eluding police and murder dangerous depraved. The judge ordered him held on no bond. Trooper Zachary Fink with the Florida Highway Patrol was killed in the line of duty while trying to detain a fleeing driver Friday morning in St. Lucie County. According to Florida Highway Patrol, Fink was attempting to pull over the suspect, who was driving recklessly on I-95, when he was hit by a semitrailer, killing both him and the truck driver.“Yesterday was a day of tragedy. It is impossible to summarize the feeling of loss felt due to the reckless decisions of one individual with a complete disregard for the safety of others,” said FHP Colonel Gary Howze II. “This criminal chose his actions that took two people from their families and loved ones. He cost Florida one of its finest selfless heroes in Trooper Fink. With his arrest, this repeat criminal will not escape the consequences of his actions and will be held accountable.”In a statement, St. Lucie County Sheriff Keith Pearson said, “All law enforcement put their lives on the line every day to protect our residents. This tragedy could have been prevented if Michael Addison followed the rule of law and complied with law enforcement.
