The Port St. Lucie man accused of shooting a tow truck driver remains behind bars.According to a police report, the tow truck driver showed up at the home of Omar Sueque to repossess his car when Sueque got into an argument and reportedly shot the driver. Sueque appeared before a St. Lucie County judge Friday morning and pleaded his case. “I have cameras at home that was filming at the time that everything happened,” Sueque said. “They are six to seven feet away from what happened, and my accusations are based on video taken from 200 feet away, they never mentioned the person made personal threats against me.” The incident took place Thursday afternoon outside Seuque’s home, which is located in the 2000 block of Southwest Villanova Road.A neighbor captured what happened on her cellphone.Your neighborhood: Local coverage from WPBF 25 NewsPolice said Sueque walked out of his home and began arguing with the 29-year-old driver and tried to stop him before things got violent.They said Sueque hit the driver in the face and then later armed himself with a gun and shot the driver multiple times as the victim was in the tow truck. ”He was struck, we believe, six times and four of the rounds are actually still inside the victim, ” said police Chief Richard Del Toro. ”If there is a dispute between the two, they can call law enforcement to come out there and try to resolve the matter amicably,” Del Toro said. “But this one just reached a point that I think the temper of the suspect just got the better of him in this case.”Smith said he would like to see measures put into place to help keep tow truck drivers safe.”Better system, better camera system in our truck,” Smith said. “We have no supervisors in the truck with us, no managers, right now, it’s just us.”Police said the victim is expected to survive.Sueque faces several charges, including attempted murder.Follow us on social: Facebook | Twitter | Instagram | TikTok | YouTube
