Arkansas truck drivers feeling impact of icy roads
Some roads in NWA and the River Valley are still covered with snow and ice

The recent stretch of winter weather is having a big impact on the roads throughout Northwest Arkansas and the River Valley. “Some of the side roads will still be not cleared, piled up with snow, you can’t see the lines,” truck driver Ryan Zhadzinski said. “That presents an additional challenge.”Zhadzinski started truck driving 10 months ago, and this was his first time driving in the snow. “Obviously, I want to protect the truck I don’t want to get an accident, I value my job,” Zhadzinski said. “The number one thing is that I value my safety, I value my life, and that no load is worth someone’s life.”While most side roads are still covered, highways like Interstate 49 are starting to become more clear. “Highways are nice, clean, sparkly with piles of salt,” Zhadzinski said. “You even get lucky once a while you get a plow right in front of you.”
