As per the report, a judge dismissed the appeal of the truck driver, who pleaded guilty to the dangerous driving charges.

Who Is Jaskirat Singh Sidhu?
Jaskirat Singh Sidhu, an Indian-origin truck driver, was sentenced to eight years in prison and was employed for less than a month before the accident that took place after his semi-trailer truck failed to stop at a highway intersection on April 6, 2018.
Earlier, this year, Jaskirat Singh Sidhu was granted parole and the Canada Border Services Agency had recommended his deportation. Sidhu’s lawyer, Michael Greene, claimed that border services officials failed to consider Sidhu’s previously clean criminal record and remorse.
The judge said that Sidhu now faces deportation to India from Canada after spending years of hard work establishing a life with his wife in Canada, CBC News reported. However, he can still request to be allowed to stay on humanitarian and compassionate grounds.
Toby Boulet, whose 21-year-old son, Logan, was killed in the crash stated that he does not want Sidhu in Canada. “We have no ill feelings toward the man — we just don’t want to see him ever again,” Boulet was quoted as saying in the report.
