Semi-truck driver dies in fiery single-vehicle crash in eastern Iowa
The driver of a semi-truck has died after a crash on Interstate 80 just west of Tiffin on Friday morning, KCRG reports.The Iowa State Patrol said a semi-truck was heading westbound on I-80 at around 4:30 a.m. when the vehicle left the roadway, went into the ditch, hit a tree, and caught fire.Officials said the driver, who has not been identified, died in the crash and resulting fire.According to the latest data from the Iowa Department of Transportation, 351 people have died so far this year on Iowa roads.
