South Piedmont Community College announced it is enrolling students for truck driving classes that start as early as January. According to a release by the institution, financial assistance is available that will cover the majority of costs to the student.
Students at South Piedmont can choose to pursue either their CDL-A or CDL-B license. Classes can be completed in as little as a few weeks.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the truck driving field will grow by 4% through 2032. Truck drivers in 2022 made a median wage of $49,920 annually.
“This really is a great career,” said Cornelius Dunlap, South Piedmont’s CDL instructor and a former truck driver in the release. “Many of our graduates get hired immediately after completing the program. They’re on the road, making a great wage to support their families, and getting to see the United States in the process. We take great pride in preparing students to be successful behind the wheel – and wherever the road may take them.”
