A semi-truck rolled over, and caught fire, on westbound I-76 near Love’s Gas Station in Brush on Monday night that led to the driver being taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.
According to Colorado State Patrol Public Affairs Sergeant Troy Kessler, a call came into the CSP around 6:50 p.m. on Monday. Kessler said both lanes of I-76 were closed immediately and remained closed until 2:45 a.m. on Tuesday.
Kessler said the semi-truck driver was Tylor Callen, 27, from Hudson, and he was hauling cattle. Kessler said Callen was hauling 39 head of cattle, which were offloaded. Kessler said there were no updates on the condition of the cattle.
“The semi was fully engulfed,” Kessler said.
Per the report, the fire was caused by a fuel leak. The report indicated that no other vehicles were involved in the accident.
Callen was issued a citation.
