Truck Driver: Five Held For Truck Driver’s Murder | Bhubaneswar News

Berhampur: A 25-year-old truck driver was allegedly murdered by some miscreants at Lanjipalli village in Ganjam district on Friday.The deceased was identified as Mangala Bhuyan of Lanjipalli. Preliminary inquiry revealed the motive for murder was previous enmity.Five persons, including three of a family, were arrested for the murder. The accused were identified as Surendra Bhuyan (52), his sons Bayadhar (25) and Papun (24), Jaysen Gouda (25) and Chandan Gouda (18). Two stone slabs, a knife, a sharp-edged weapon and blood-stained napkins were seized from the accused, the police said. Police said Bhuyan was working in Surat and returned to Lanjipalli recently. The accused were also working in Surat and returned to the village on the occasion of Dussehra. The accused called Bhuyan in the morning and he was going on a motorcycle when they tried to kill him. The accused smashed his head with the stone slabs when he fell down on the ground while he was running away.In another case, police recovered the body of a grocery shop owner from Kiriamba village under Buguda police station limits on Friday. The deceased was identified as Sushant Patra (48) of Karachuli. Police recovered a packet of pesticides near the body. “We suspect he might have died by suicide,” said a police officer. The cause of his death would be ascertained after the post-mortem report, police said. Family members of the deceased, however, alleged he might have been murdered.

Bronx murder case: 14-year old girl arrested by police

A 14-year-old girl has been charged with murder after a man was fatally stabbed in Bronx. The girl reportedly stood across the street during the attack, while three men encircled and stabbed the victim multiple times. The group then took the victim’s backpack and fled to a nearby building. The girl now faces several charges, including murder, manslaughter, robbery, and possession of stolen property. The victim was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
