The victim was a delivery driver for Morrisons.
A truck driver from Co Monaghan has appeared in a UK court charged with killing a delivery worker in a highway crash earlier this year.
Patrick Casey (22) was brought before Telford Magistrates Court on Tuesday, where he faced a single charge of causing the death of Callum Powell by dangerous driving, according to a report in the Shropshire Star newspaper.
Mr Powell (24) worked as a delivery driver for supermarket chain Morrisons.
He tragically died after his car was involved in a crash with a Scania lorry on the A5 London – Holyhead motorway at Nesscliffe in the early hours of January 23.
District Judge Ian Barnes heard that the Irishman is accused of causing Mr Powell’s death by driving the Scania R450 lorry dangerously.

Shrewsbury Crown Court will deal with the case next on November 7 after the judge said the case was an issue for a crown court.
Patrick Casey, who is reportedly from Cornamucklagh in County Monaghan, wore a navy blue gilet over a blue shirt and spoke only to confirm his name, address and date of birth, the Shropshire Star reports.
Casey was granted unconditional bail in advance of his next hearing.
Family members of the victim appeared in the Telford Court, as did supporting family for the Irish man, the paper states.
The victim of the smash, Mr Powell, was from a place called Ruyton XI Towns, which is a small village in Shrewsbury.
His sister, Rachel, previously described him as “car mad” and described how he ran the 10PMClub, a car-based social group with hundreds of members.
“He was the best. He was very modest, he didn’t like attention at all. He was very protective of the women in his life,” Rachel said.
“He was a lovely genuine person, loved his cars and loved his friends and family. He would always be the person rescuing and saving us all when our cars had broken down or we needed him.”
