Recent retires is one of the many reasons why the trucking industry is short of thousands of drivers. As Rebecca Oylar, the President and CEO of the Pennsylvania Motor Trucking Association explained, “It’s short almost 80,000 drivers across the nation and that is expected to grow over the next couple of years as well. So we’re doing what we can to educate folks about the great opportunities that are available in the trucking industry, both with drivers and diesel tax and a lot of other opportunities in the industry.”
